What do worms, seeds, animals and fossils have in common? They are all included in Nature Science with Hollie, our 4-part Weebinar Series starting soon! We invite young children and grownups who care for and educate them to join Hollie as she introduces a new topic each week with a science story and hands-on nature science activities. Most appropriate for ages 3-8.
July 8: Worms!
Study wiggly worms to see how they move and make our gardens grow.
Activity: Worm Painting
Materials: String (shoelaces or twine), scissors, paint and paper
July 15: Fruits & Seeds
See what’s happening inside interesting fruits and seeds!
Activity: Fruit Prints
Materials: Fruits and veggies cut in half (options are plastic fruits or sponges cut into fruit shapes), dried beans or seeds (small buttons or beads are an option), paint (option is food coloring), glue (glue stick or liquid glue) and paper
July 22: Animal Adaptations
Take a close look at a live animal and talk about neat features that help it to survive.
Activity: Bird Beak Game
Materials: 10-20 beads, beans, buttons, or stones (around the same size and shape), 10-20 pieces of string or twine cut into approximately 2-inch lengths, kitchen utensils (such as forks, spoons, chopsticks, spatula, etc.)

July 29: Fossils & Dinosaurs
See real fossils up close and learn how bones and footprints become fossils.
Activity: Make a Trace Fossil
Materials: A dish or tray with flour (options are salt or sand) - just enough to cover the bottom, animal toys or action figures (bonus points if it’s a dinosaur), leaves, flowers or tree bark (can be real or artificial)
