Preschool Puzzles are Great for Fine Motor, Cognitive, and Literacy Development
If you use manipulative puzzles to develop fine motor skills, consider the types that are available. Use jumbo knobs for older infants and young toddlers. Chunky puzzles require a different grasp and are great for toddlers and two's. Introduce small knob or peg puzzles to develop the pincer grasp - a precursor to handwriting. Puzzles teach spatial relations, categorizing skills, new concepts, and enrich vocabulary. Some of the puzzle themes will prompt conversations about family, careers, and diversity. The Fairy Tale and Nursery Rhyme Puzzle Sets are classics that are still popular. We hope you find something new and novel here to liven up your preschool puzzle collection.
