Training for Future Shoppers Begins with Dramatic Play Pretend Shopping
It's hard to find a preschool child who doesn't like to play pretend grocery store. It seems that the more realistic the props, the more engaged a child will be. We have "real" shopping carts and shopping baskets. Add well-stocked shelves, a cash register, and bags for bagging groceries and your pint-sized customers will start lining up! You can rotate the kind of store to keep it interesting. Children might like shopping at a clothing store, a farmer's market, or a pet store. Keep lots of props on hand so you can easily change the theme.
